What I Do
I produce and contribute on virtually all the local live programming here on the Tusk.  I'm the executive producer and update anchor for The Sports Breakdown with Vince Ferrara weekdays 2-6.  I'm also heavily involved in our high school football coverage and our Alabama football pregame and post game shows.
Holler at me!
Please feel free to contact me at ThomasCanterbury@clearchannel.com with any comments, concerns, praises, or just to say hey.  Also, during any of our shows call us at (205) 752-9228.
About me
I have lived in Tuscaloosa since 1991, and am a graduate of the 3 great learning institutions of Tuscaloosa, Central High School (Go Falcons! CTO!), Shelton State Community College (Go Bucs!), and the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!).   I married my college sweetheart, the lovely Jennifer Canterbury in July of 2004 and we had our first child in September 2006, the equally lovely (but in a baby way) Chloe Canterbury.

I joined the Tusk shortly after its launch in August of 2004.  Before I got paid to do radio I did it for free on the campus station, WVUA 90.7 fm for 3 years.

Some people might call me eclectic.  I'm a 2 time all-state scholar's bowl player, I do a little acting (most recently seen in Theatre Tuscaloosa's production of Death of a Salesman), I do some softball and basketball officiating, and I'm a huge wrestling fan.

Sports-wise, I'm of course a big fan of the Tide.  I'm also a long-suffering Cubs fan and haven't decided who I will go for in the NFL this year, whoever has the most Bama players on it.

My thoughts on practice
Tuesday 08-05-2008 10:10am CT

I may be the first person to bring this up, but Julio Jones is good.  I'm trying to temper my excitement about the recruiting class, thinking maybe they're overratted.  They haven't played a game yet, they can't be that good.  But I believe they are.  Just looking at them working out there, you could take their numbers or names away and you could still pick them out.

It's not that the players Alabama had were sub-par, there are some great players and great athletes that were already here.  But this group of freshmen is extraordinary and will be the centerpiece of the group that will bring Bama back to national promenience.  If 50 players contribute to any single game for a team, I predict this year that 10 to 12 of those players will be freshmen for Bama this year.

Don't know who this guys is...
